Named for Little Mountain near Piney River, the seven-member group has been instrumental in raising funds at benefit concerts for non-profit organizations such as Amherst County Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, local Boy Scout troops, fire departments, rescue squads, countless churches and individuals who have fallen on hard times. Their fund raising includes annual bluegrass shows for Future Farmers of America at Nelson County’s Middle School and High School. To honor the band, Jimmy Fortune, a longtime member of The Statler Brothers country and gospel music group for 21 years and now touring nationally with Brothers of the Heart, will open the show by singing some songs he has written and other gospel favorites with the Little Mountain Boys.
The Little Mountain Boys is comprised of T.W. Massie, Mike Massie, A.D. Massie, Scott Massie, Marsha Massie, Ronnie Wood and Jeff Herring.
