Beth Massie Goodwin, long time member of the Nelson County Historical Society and Oakland Museum, tells an audience about her upbringing. Her father, "Captain Billy" Massie, owned a well-known store and mill in Tyro, VA. Beth's stories reflect how people lived in a rural area in the mid-20th century.

The Annual Meeting of the Nelson County HIstorical Society was held on Sunday, March 15, at The Nelson Center in Lovingston. After a short business meeting, Archaeologist Randy Lichtenberger made a presentation on findings of an archaeological project at Cabellsville, now Colleen, site of the first courthouse in what became Nelson County.
